Shelley has also earned the designation of Enrolled Agent from the Department Of Treasury. An Enrolled Agent is one of only three professionals enrolled to practice before the Internal Revenue Service, and represent clients in tax matters.
Prior to starting her own firm, Shelley served as Vice President of Ferro and Associates, Inc., and was a financial consultant with Smith Barney, where she was responsible for managing client portfolios. She served as a Senior Consultant with Mutual of America advising corporate clients on retirement plan solutions for their employees.
In July of 2006, Ms. Ferro was admitted to the Paladin Registry. She was awarded Paladin's Five Star quality designation. This is awarded to planners and advisors that rank in the top 10% of their profession.
In 2008 Ms. Ferro was appointed by Governor Bobby Jindal to serve on the Board of Directors of the Louisiana Economic Development Corporation. Ms. Ferro is currently serving a 4 year board term.
Ms. Ferro is the Past-President of the Greater New Orleans Financial Planning Association. She is Past-President of the local chapter of The National Association of Woman Business Owners, and is a member of the National Association of Personal Financial Advisors. (NAPFA)
